Other organizations and resources that serve King County

If you don’t qualify for ELAP’s services, there are many other organizations and resources
that may be able to help you. These are independent nonprofits and agencies that are not part of ELAP.

Legal Counsel for Youth and Children – Free legal help for ages 12-24 serving King, Walla Walla, Benton, and Franklin counties.  

TeamChild – Free legal help for ages 12-24 serving King, Pierce, Spokane, and Yakima counties.

King County Dept. of Public Defense – Information about obtaining a lawyer for criminal cases.

King County Bar Association – Lawyer referral service for people accused or charged with a crime.

National Domestic Violence Hotline – 1-800-799-7233

DAWN – 24-hour help line, emergency shelter, and other resources serving South King County.

Lifewire – 24-hour help line, mental health, housing support, and other resources serving North and East King County.

New Beginnings – 24-hour help line, housing support, and other resources serving Seattle.

Sexual Violence Law Center – State-wide legal help for survivors.  

King County Sexual Assault Resource Center – 24-hour help line, legal advocacy, therapy, and other services.  

King County Protection Orders – Information about getting a domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, stalking, or other type of protection order in King County. 

Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence – Broad list of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking resources.

Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence – List of local help lines and other resources.  

Civil Legal Aid in King County – List of organizations providing civil legal aid in King County, including videos, downloadable print booklet, and materials in Spanish, Vietnamese, and Mandarin.

Northwest Justice Project – Statewide resource for free legal aid for many topics including housing, unemployment, immigration, benefits, family law, discrimination, and more.

Washington Law Help – Online self-help resource for most legal topics including forms, webinars, and other resources.  

King County Bar Association – Free neighborhood legal clinics.

Snohomish County Legal Aid – Free civil legal aid services for people residing in Snohomish County.

Pierce County Legal Aid – Free civil legal aid services for people residing in Pierce County.

Housing Justice Project – Free legal help to renters facing eviction in King County.  

Benefits Law Center – Free legal help for people denied social security or disability benefits in King County.    

Unemployment Law Project – Free legal help for people denied unemployment benefits serving Washington state. 

Solid Ground – Free legal help for people having difficulty accessing state public benefits including SNAP, TANF, childcare, and medical benefits in King County. 

Fair Work Center – Free legal help for low-wage workers serving Washington state. 

Northwest Consumer Law Center – Free legal help for foreclosure, bankruptcy/debtor relief, and student loan relief serving Washington state. 

King County Veterans Program – Free legal help and other resources for Veterans and service members residing in King County. 

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project – Free legal representation, advice, and resources serving Washington state. 

Protecting Immigrant Families – Know your rights resources in multiple languages.
