Drum roll for our new staff members!
Kristen Schmit, J.D., (she/her) has joined the ELAP team as a Domestic Violence Staff Attorney working on-site at our community partner, DAWN. Kristen was most recently a judicial law clerk in Snohomish County Superior Court and previously was an associate attorney with Seacoma Law in Tacoma. Kristen earned a law degree from Seattle University where she was the recipient of several awards.
Jesse Guecha (he/they) is our new Pro Bono Council and Dementia Legal Planning Project Coordinator. Jesse was most recently at the Pride Foundation – TRANSform Culture as a research justice village council member and prior to that was a paralegal and community legal services manager at QLaw Foundation. Jesse earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and holds a paralegal certificate from Edmonds Community College. Jesse volunteers extensively in the community to support and advocate for marginalized communities.
