DAF Day is a national giving day dedicated to donor-advised funds (DAFs), held annually on the second Thursday of October — this year falling on October 8, 2026.
Now in its third year, the day brings together donors, nonprofits, and DAF sponsor organizations to spotlight and encourage charitable giving through DAFs, in the same spirit as Giving Tuesday.
A donor-advised fund is essentially a dedicated charitable giving account. A donor contributes cash, securities, or other assets to the fund (receiving an immediate tax benefit), and the money can then be granted out to nonprofits over time, whenever and however the donor chooses.
