We’re excited to announce that we’ve launched a new monthly legal clinic about guardianship. Through a free 45-minute legal consultation, ELAP will help community members navigate new legal rules around adult guardianship, conservatorship, and other protective arrangements.
In 2022, Washington state revised its guardianship law to clarify that informed consent may be given on behalf of people who don’t have the capacity to make healthcare decisions on their own.
ELAP’s Guardianship Legal Clinic takes place by phone on the second Wednesday of the month, from 12-2 p.m. Eligible individuals reside in King County and meet income guidelines based on need.
